Servicing loose door handles
Servicing loose door handles, which is quite similar to this case here. In panel 1, the screws are loose and the wood around them is worn out. This was due to two reasons. Firstly, the door is made of plywood, which is not hard enough for the screws. Secondly, the screws were not strong enough to attach the handles securely to the door.
To illustrate the points further, the image below shows the lock body, and how much space the lock body takes up.
To solve this conundrum, we removed all of the normal screws and replaced them with special screws, which are able to provide a stronger attachment for the handles. Furthermore, they will not damage the wood. Panels 2 and 3 show closeups of the special screws, and the last panel shows the newly serviced door handles.
